THE JOKE OF THE DECK

You say that you love me !
Ha ! That’s a laugh.
I live in the present
while you live in the past.

you think you could get me
As you had done so many times before.
many times you had tricked me, and now
I’ve settled the score.
How could I have believed
the words that I had read.

“That you would always love me
And that you’d always be true”.
Until I had found you
With some body new.

You played your cards like a true poker player
And bluffed all , to win the pot.
You racked in the chips
And you would not stop.

From you I had learned to play.
And how to see your bluff
And what I learned was much to much.

Now the tables are turned and I
See you as you truly are
I could do with out you
I am better off by far.

As I walked away from you
I saw a tear form in your eye
As I waved at you, and I said
“ good bye”.
